Douglas Design Studio completed the design of Toronto’s first downtown Tequila bar, El Caballito.  Designed in the spirit of the cantinas you’ll find in Condesa, Mexico City, they offer 64 quality Mexican tequilas and mezcals, as well as antojitos, small plates of street-style Mexican food.

The space seats 120 guests and features a private tequila tasting room. When you step inside, you can’t help but feel like a local. A rustic, dilapidated hideaway with exposed brick and reclaimed wood and metal, all contribute to the cozy and authentic Mexican experience.

Douglas Design continues to expand the space with a 1,800 sq.ft. patio and a make-your-own taco station in preparation for the summer. Los Colibris, the upstairs restaurant space, will open later in 2014, offering an upscale Mexican dining experience with 150 seats and two private dining rooms.
