Douglas Design Studio recently completed the design of an upscale Mexican restaurant, ‘Los Colibris’. Their sister restaurant, ‘El Caballito’, opened earlier this year on the lower level.

Reminicent of Mexico City’s fashionable Condesa district, the interior employs a jewel toned colour scheme with a mix of 1920′s art, exposed brick, and beams reminiscent of historic Latin architecture. The space features two private dining rooms, an open ceviche kitchen, and a long bar with vibrant custom handmade tiles.

Mexico-trained Executive chef, Elia Herrera, serves up refined Mexican dishes, passed down from her mother and grandmother. Promising to be everything a quick taco bar isn’t, the focus is on exceptional hospitality, authentic cuisine and inspired design.
