A highlight of London Design Week 2018, the formal ceremony for the International Design & Architecture Awards was hosted at the historic Hurlingham Club, on September 21st. Architects, interior designers and product designers from around the world competed for the highly covetable awards, recognizing outstanding achievements in a variety of categories.

Douglas Design Studio was honored to win the award for Global Residential Design £2.5m – £5m. The Ravine View Home is a glamorous space featuring luxury materials and artisanal touches that create an artistic mix of modern with antique in a contemporary space suitable for both family gatherings and formal entertaining.

Finalist

Douglas Design Studio was been selected as a finalist by the U.K. based Design Society for the International Design and Architecture Awards for the category ‘Kitchen Design Over £50,000’.  

Positioned high in a building overlooking a ravine this kitchen features a large bow window that extends the experience of this room out over the peaceful view. The finishes are rich, warm and fresh using Mozambique wood, marble, stainless steel and polished, white porcelain.

Douglas Design Studio was selected as a finalist by the U.K. based Design Society for the International Design and Architecture Awards for the category ‘City Space (Apartment/Penthouse)’.  

The Ravine View Home is a glamorous space featuring luxury materials and artisanal touches that create an artistic mix of modern with antique in a contemporary space suitable for both family gatherings and formal entertaining.

The International Design & Architecture awards recognized exceptional design around the world at its annual gala on September 22, 2017 in London, England. Douglas Design Studio was presented with the award for 'Kitchen Design over £ 50,000'.

This luxury kitchen, situated overlooking Lake Ontario, was inspired by both the lake itself and our client’s love of fashion. It is the hub of the home with entrances from all sides, so clever use of space, a unifying palette and hidden rooms were key to the overall design.

The International Design & Architecture awards recognized exceptional design around the world at its annual gala on September 22, 2017 in London, England. Douglas Design Studio was presented with the award for ‘Interior Design Residential £10 Million Plus’.

This luxurious 17,000 square foot home is situated on the shores of expansive Lake Ontario, offering ever changing views and a peaceful refuge from the city that surrounds. Our client desired a modern space that isn't austere, resulting in a calm, airy and glamorous space, while offering warmer more intimate spaces for family gatherings.

The ‘Aaron’ dining table has been selected as a finalist for the International Design and Architecture Awards for the category ‘Table Design’.  

The Aaron dining table is strong, edgy and timeless featuring a solid bronze base with a knife edge, natural quartzite top and inlaid bronze detailing.

The ‘Damson’ credenza has been selected as a finalist for the International Design and Architecture Awards for the category ‘Bespoke Cabinetry’.  

Details are of the essence: custom bronze hinges, custom bronze drawer glides, and a sophisticated tubular system supporting glass shelving. Made from architectural bronze and finished with a pearlescent lacquer, the Damson credenza adds luxury to any space.
