A Story of Simplicity

A family of busy professionals with teenage daughters, these clients required a functional home that also provides a refuge from the stresses of urban life. The contemporary, almost minimalist, interior avoids austerity in favor of pure warmth. One way of achieving it was through mindful use of natural materials, such as textured woods and fabrics.

No formal living room was required, as the family prefers intimate and casual gatherings, opening up their space to enjoy each others’ company and welcome guests as friends. The clients’ eclectic art collection was purposefully integrated into the design to give room to its sense of whimsy.

Thoughtful details create the warm and relaxed, yet sophisticated quality our clients were seeking. Assigning specific needs of the household to designated areas such as the spa, sauna, elevator or catering kitchen further ensured function while keeping the surrounding spaces clean and unencumbered.
