Douglas Design Studio has been selected as a finalist by the Switzerland based SIT Furniture Design Awards for the category ‘Other Tables’.  

SIT Furniture Design Awardexists to recognize, celebrate, and promote brilliant international Furniture Designers, Brands, Manufacturers, Emerging talents as well as Visionaries enhancing our daily life with innovation. 

Opulence and mindfulness do not always go together in design. The Silex tables, however, succeed in uniting them through an ingenious take on repurposing. The Silex Column references a stylized version of an architectural column base with its minimalist, angular edges, with chamfered corners resting on a bronze base. The curved Silex Deco invokes a distilled, modernized expression of the Art Deco era, its curved base appears poised within a convex base.

Each individual layer of stone is carefully selected, bringing its own colouring, pattern and character to the piece. The result is a deeply satisfying design, as sustainable as it is luxurious.
