Classic Elegance

Mid-Century Modern meets the 21st Century

Designed for US-American clients as a second home in the Toronto area, this design features elegance in every detail while never weighing down its airy quality.

The entryway with its classic tile pattern showcases two beautiful vintage pieces: a chandelier from the 1940s and a 1950s starburst convex mirror. The mid-century art deco vibes carry into the living and dining spaces, where time-honoured shapes are reinterpreted for a modern design context. Antique dining chairs with laced bronze backs perfectly harmonize with a 1940s Murano chandelier, while a sophisticated and understated colour palette keeps the room modern. Choosing a cream colour base not only recognizes a re-emerging trend, it also unites the entire home across spaces.

The kitchen and family room transition to a more contemporary feel with clean, yet comfortable lines. A study in deep wood tones provides a counterpoint, emphasizing the airiness in the other spaces of the home.
