Clean Lines In Inviting Spaces

This long-awaited dream home balances the clients’ love of pared-down modern interiors with their equal desire for an inviting, cozy and family-oriented environment. To that end, they also requested to forego the traditional formal living room, opting to make all spaces family spaces instead. This naturally focusses the design on the great room as the heart of the home. Here, the open kitchen flows into the generous and comfortable seating area. Layering and sculpting, such as in the asymmetrical ceiling details, ensures functional spaces are still clearly demarcated. 

In the dining room, bronzed mirror panels set into the dining room’s painted panel walls reflect the furnishings, art and playful pendant lights. They again create infinite layers of colour and shape in what is actually a very simply finished room. The entire design also took the young family’s needs into account, ensuring durability and easy maintenance in materials and giving options for transitioning spaces as needed.
